Mainz. For more than 80 years the name Wagner Madler in Mainz has has stood for high quality and outstanding service in the field of watches and jewellery. Widely known beyond the boundaries of the state capital, this respected traditional business has always been something special: This first female master goldsmith Rheinhessen worked here and it was here that the venerated bishop's staff was designed and produced. Given these innovations, it is not surprising that the management of Wagner Madler also relies on the programming ability of the market leader Clarity & Success for inventory management software.
"In addition to outstanding service and an exclusive collection of watches and jewellery, we strive for absolute reliability and precision," says Wagner, who leads the family business as a goldsmith/restorer and is now the fourth generation of this family concern. The building adjacent to the jewellery store includes a private Trauringstudio and Wellendorff store - all in the midst of the Mainz City.
To offer perfect service of all the needs of jewellery customers requires a software programme specifically tailored to meet the requirements of goldsmiths and jewellers. As the next generation leader of the business, Richard Wagner recognised the need for perfect management software and says „Our old inventory management system based on DOS was simply not powerful enough to meet our growing needs,"
In Clarity & Success, Wagner found a provider whose software is just that: inventory management, management of customer, supplier, and employee data, print labels, the compilation of statistics, the management of repairs and complete schedule coordination. "Our success has always been to passionately care about support and service - and we saw the same passion in Clarity & Success," said Wagner, who decided after careful consideration of the Clarity Gold Package, to install this software for service-oriented jewellers.
In August, a smooth transition to the new software included the transfer of all historical data, installation and training on site by the Clarity & Success Experts. "Because Wagner Madler needed three transactions to be connected to many computers, we have directed all operations to a virtual server," says managing director Florian Henkel. The big advantage of this solution is that all computers have local access and working with the software is fast and effective. And for the manager, who in everyday life must often commute between stores, the software experts have come up with something special. "We have also incorporated into the business PCs, an iPad, which will allow designated personnel access to the system from anywhere and also be used if necessary as an additional, mobile POS," said Henkel.
Richard Wagner, in addition to the performance of its new enterprise resource planning, especially appreciates the additional options in terms of customer loyalty. For example, when a customer purchases a new clock, the software automatically records the dates for the next battery replacement or the end of the warranty period and revision. "So we do not miss opportunities to contact the customers to continue our service and customer relationship," says Wagner.
