Wilcox & Carter Watchmakers and Jewellers in Boston have been established since 1959 and are a private, family owned business who strive to offer flawless service and the ultimate customer experience.
Father and Son owners, Noel and James Gleeson made the switch to Clarity & Success after visiting the Jewellery & Watch show at the NEC in February 2017.
James explains “We had purchased a sub-standard system which we felt had been mis-sold with an over promise of functionality which simply could not do what we expected. We spent 2 years persevering but eventually recognised we could no longer continue”.
We looked at the key jewellery till systems such as Bransom, Pursuit and Clarity & Success and spoke with a number of other retailers using these systems. The unanimous choice was Clarity & Success and Karen sealed the deal by walking us around the system at the Jewellery & Watch show.
We chose Clarity as it was the easiest, most comprehensive system to use. Their relationships with prominent brands such as Nomination, Swarovski, Thomas Sabo, Clogau and more were also key as this made the input and continued management and update of our stock on the system very straightforward”.
James attended training at The White House in Stafford which he found enjoyable and informative. Of course, the real training starts once the system is installed and live.
“The more you use the system, the easier it becomes”! says James. “The younger members of our team took to it likes ducks to water. It was more difficult for my parents as they were used to the previous system but now they are very good on the new system too”.

James confirms this by adding: “The support is very good. Cameron is always very obliging but without being biased, Kev is exceptionally good in supporting us. Nothing is ever too much trouble. He always seems to pick up the phone when I really need him”!
So, how has Clarity & Success enhanced the Wilcox & Carter business?
All the branded products stocked by Wilcox & Carter are on the system using the branded articlebases provided by Clarity & Success. They make full use of all functions of the till such as gift vouchers and deposits which they find extremely useful and simple to track. They report finding the till easy to use and very useful in tracking daily turnover figures and stock movement.
James adds “The stock management side of the business has been boosted significantly by the system. It helps us and our customers in different ways. The next step is to start using the system for our repairs”.
